Throughput Check is a lightweight WordPress performance testing plugin that estimates how many internal REST requests per second your site can process.

Unlike external load testing tools, this plugin runs everything inside your own WordPress environment. It sends controlled concurrent REST API requests to your installation and measures:

• Average response time

• Estimated requests per second

• Server p50 / p95 latency

• Stability (errors detected or not)

• A simple performance grade (A–D)

No external services.
No artificial network latency.
No complex setup.

Just a clean internal throughput snapshot.

Throughput Check gives you a quick internal benchmark focused on PHP + WordPress execution capacity — not CDN speed, not browser performance.

How the test works

The plugin:

1. Calls an internal REST endpoint

2. Executes a small but realistic WordPress workload:

   • Multiple get_option() calls

   • A WP_Query (5 published posts)

   • A cache set/get operation

3. Runs mini-scaling at:

   • 5 concurrent requests

   • 15 concurrent requests

   • 30 concurrent requests

4. Calculates:

   • Client average response time

   • Batch duration

   • Estimated requests per second

   • Server p50 and p95

   • Stability score

The result is summarized with a clear performance grade:

• A: ≥ 120 req/s

• B: ≥ 80 req/s

• C: ≥ 50 req/s

• D: < 50 req/s or errors detected

What this is NOT

This plugin is not:

• A real-world external load test

• A CDN benchmark

• A front-end speed test

• A browser performance tool

It measures internal PHP and WordPress processing capacity only.

Go to:

Tools → Throughput Check

Click Run Test.
Results are displayed immediately in the admin interface.
